Scandinavia/Tresor - Live + DJ
NICK SPICE (UK)
Wellington: Saturday 6 March - Studio 9
Following hot on the heels of UK bleep 'n' basser Cristian Vogel comes the originator of that sound, New York based Neil Landstrumm... Taking a break from his hectic recording and touring schedule, 1999 sees Neil pay a one time visit to New Zealand and Australia. Recently relocated to Brooklyn, NYC from Edinburgh, to bring his sound to the ears of the east coasters, Neil has immersed himself in the myriad of dance styles that come from Gotham.
Get ready for a night on the edge. -- Listen to the Neil Landstrumm in the mix show [ Realaudio - Check In The Mix... ] March 1999 we get to hear for ourselves.
Spinning a selection of brain atomising, body pulsating, tidal wave emulating sonics, Landstrumm rocks the floor like no other can!!! Neil's Scandinavia record label has grown and grown, putting out some exceptional releases by the likes of Navario Sauro (Neil's pen name) Julia Decay (aka Cristian Vogel), Adam X and Freon (both New Yorkers) and of course the super-abstract styles of SUGAR EXPERIMENT STATION (the mighty collaboration between Tobias Schmidt and Navario Sauro), Neil also records as POLARIS for Sonic Groove ( NYC ) and his last three LPs : Understanding Disinformation, Bedrooms And Cities and Pro Audio were all released through Tresor records in Berlin. Nick Spice - Solid Recordings
Nick Spice has played in countries in every continent apart from America, including Japan, South Africa (where he played with Cristian Vogel and Neil Landstrumm in the barren and remote Karoo desert), Russia, Germany (where he played at Groove magazine's number 2 rating club in Germany, Stammheim in Kassel) and in London, Manchester and Sheffield in the good old UK. Mr. Spice started Solid records with Mat Consume and he has recorded for the label as CUTS. He has also recorded for Eukatech as SPLINTER and is planning to do more recording both on his own and in collaboration with others including old mate from the free party underground, Chris Liberator. Together this pair of reprobates run the Off The Wall label. For Nick, the old maxim of quality over quantity is important. There's already too much shit vinyl in the world. Why add to it? As far as a label aesthetic goes, hard is good, but don't forget the funk. Dancing is great, but falling over perhaps more fun!! Get ready for a night on the edge. Don't miss this chance to hear a rare sound indeed!

Playing Auckland first, Neil will be constructing a rare live
jam alongside his dj set in Wellington. Three hours in each center.
Joining Mr. Landstrumm, just to double the thrills'n'spills, will be No Futurist Nick Spice who treats DJing as a very serious business, so expect
a seriously twisted set of mad tronic lokgrooves and funkt up
audioanarchism!!!
