Sonic Mass info and pictures are now up. Around 700 people attended, and all those on the bill turned out fine sets. Hopefully this will be the start of a new wave of dance parties in the city...
Speaaking of which, Transit is still on the horizon, actually, now less than a month away.. scary shit. Also confirmed it US hard trance meister, Lenny D - playing Wellington's Shed 21 on May 31, and an Auckland date around that time also. Watch here for more info - should be a fucking Major party.
Catch the LRS live along with Clint Smiley, AndeE and Matt Ford in Palmerston North this weekend at the Boiler Room - tickets from Flipside in the City or Planet Jack in Palmerston North.
The Roots Foundation is at it again on April 4 at ESC... djs Mu, Lemon, Goosebump, Midge and Maverick
Tjaden has sent me a blitz on the Meridian outdoor rave in Auckland a few weeks ago.
Freddy Fresh played a slick electro set at the Cybotron lounge, kindly supported by Mechanism, Tjaden, Zero, Coda and the OMR. Shouts out to Mr. Eden for putting on that fine little party. Looks like S-Ence is on every Thursday now.
The Vinyl Junkies section is for all those with an aural fetish. New releases by and playlists from Wellington djs.

Transit: DATELINE:27.Apr.96...
If you can get to Palmerston North (come on -it's a short drive) catch the LRS, Clint Smiley and Matt O'Brien at the Boiler Room on March 30th.
Check out the Listings for more info, as usual.
Troubadour Records are supplying their Top 12 every week. Stick you nose in to Troubadour this weekend - shipments of Fresh vinyl are coming in all the time.
There seem to be more and more events out of the cities - maybe they'll slow down over winter, but I'm sure next summer we'll be seeing a host of outdoor raves. To me these events seem much better than inner city parties - the people who make an effort to go to them really want to be enjoy themselves is a positive way and once you're there, you're there for the duration, so the crowd doesn't go home at 3am. There is no experience like coming down to a hot coffee as the sun is breaking over a hill. Your breath still vapourises but the warmth feels like it's cleansing you after a maelstrom of internal pyrotechnics in the darkness - just you and the sound system. Oh - and there's always that 9 hour drive home - just to calm you down (not).
Too much Goa Trance at Entrain? They had power failures from all directions, bogans for miles and a quite cool laser - but they still managed to play goa trance all night and all of the next day.
A little snippet on the roots of Techno By Alan Oldham of Generator Records, Detroit... essential reading if you want to know where the music is coming from.
PRG was a cool little gathering of the true core of Wellington's rave-goers.
A retro kinda look at what was the institution of Biosphere
Read about the Hazards of Hardware, an epic ordeal of noise control at Bassment 45.
