Various - Places And Spaces Selected And Mixed By Chris Cox

PLACES AND SPACES, Chris Cox's first official mix CD, lays down on disc an insight into his soulful, eclectic and dancefloor-friendly sound. Drawing from deep in the realms of house, broken beat and nu jazz, the Places And Spaces mix is a truly international affair which touches base with producers and labels as far flung as the UK, USA, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan and of course New Zealand. It features many key players in the burgeoning broken beat scene including West London dons Phil Asher, IG Culture, Dego (4Hero) and Seiji, and calls on more straight up material from major house producers like Atjazz and Restless Soul.

Highlights come thick and fast throughout the mix, from Domu and Volcov's broken dancehall smasher "Souljah" into an instrumental version of Mark de Clive-Lowe's own dancefloor anthem "Relax Unwind", the major hip-hop-meets-broken-beat hit "Loose Lips" by Seiji featuring LyricL and Kaidi & Dego's classic "Got Me Puzzled", winding up on the smooth house tip with Rain People's "Trippin' On Love" and Bakura's uplifting "Reach The Sky".

All thirteen tracks have regularly rocked the spot at the Places And Spaces clubnight, making this fast-moving mix a take home treat for those in the know and a warm introduction for those interested in finding out what the Places And Spaces sound is all about.
