Shapeshifter · Riddim Wise Lp · Rhythmethod · 2004
Already considered by many to be their most advanced and appealing work yet, the 'Riddim Wise lp' was recorded at the group's own home studio in Melbourne.
The album features collaborations with Aotearoa's most prodigious and exciting vocalists; Dallas Tamaira aka Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy's Drop), Karoline Tamati aka Lady Six (Verse Two/Sheelahroc) and Paora Apera aka P Digsss (Sunshine Sound System/Shapeshifter).
The album is a definite progression from their debut album 'Realtime' (released in 2001), with an emphasis on funky dancefloor grooves, whilst maintaining strong musical elements.
P Digsss's track 'Been Missing' was released in NZ in October 2003 as the first single from the album, and pressed on the group's first 12" vinyl. The 'Been Missin' video has received extensive television airplay, and the track was the 2nd most played song on Alternative Radio for 2003.
The long awaited second album from the award winning Shapeshifter is going to be released nationwide through Rythmethod on March 1.
