Brixton's best-loved Sunday session returns to a brand spanking new refurbished White Horse. Swanky posh toilets! Top-class sound system! A new later licence (1am tbc)! Why, you won't even recognise it...
Yep, we're back with a bang. The re-opening night on August 11 plays host to ANTHONY COX, manager of Flying Records, deep house connoisseur and all-round good guy. Ant advises the world's best DJs on what to put in their bag so you can bet he keeps the best ones aside for himself... Reform/We Have Fruit's Guy Johnson switches genres (not genders, mind) and joins hiphop boy Sam Muir for back-to-back turntablist stylees in the form of DA NEPHEWZ, and our fab resident DEAN WEBB, fresh from storming Fabric, gets back behind the Horse decks for his unsurpassed blend of jazz-based house.
Then on August 25, it's another SSS bank holiday special, this time a Pacifican flavours spectacular. New Zealand deep house legends CUFFY AND LEON D take time out from their world tour to check into Brixton. With tracks out on Stylust (Singapore) and NZ labels State House Records, Freq, Reliable and Kog Transmissions, they're most famous here for their Slyboom EP (Pinnacle Records), a record that's found its way into the crates of Laurent Garnier, Digs & Woosh, Kevin Yost, Inland Knights, Chris Duckenfield and Dano and JZ... They're joined by fellow Kiwi house head ANDEE HAWKES, former owner of Flipside Records and founder of one of NZ's leading promotions agencies Discotek, and of course resident DEAN WEBB.
