The 'King of Jungle' returns to our shores

Known throughout the music industry as the "King of Jungle", Goldie is an artist whose ferocious creativity knows no bounds. Born and bred on the breakdancing and hip-hop culture he absorbed during trips to the States in his youth, Goldie was a graffiti and album cover artist (as well as making engraved gold teeth for gangsters in Miami), before putting out his first classics, "Terminator" and "Angel" in 1993. His debut album, "Timeless", followed two years later, and was hailed by critics as a masterpiece. That album's title track, a 21-minute symphonic piece, was a masterstroke, and the lively "Inner City Life" was a smash. Around this time, Goldie set up the legendary Metalheadz label, which has put out some of the most important Drum n Bass releases ever and spawned the infamous "Metalheadz Sunday Sessions". With his reputation firmly established, he released his critically acclaimed second album, "Saturnzreturn", in 1998, which featured cameos from KRS-One, David Bowie and Noel Gallagher. In the years since, Goldie's fame has known no bounds, with multiple film credits including "The World Is Not Enough" and "Snatch" and a spot on "Eastenders". 2005 sees a strong year for Metalheadz, with the recently released "MDZ05" receiving much praise and a slew of new releases forthcoming. Goldie's much-anticipated third album "The Sign Tempus" is due later this year.
