Asian Dub Foundation Live

ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION
live in concert in New Zealand - 12 September
press release 15/8/00

Asian Dub Foundation are five musicians who carry with them the title "best live act in the UK" by unanimous press review & acclaim; British by birth, Indian by descent and global citizens by nature: ADF are Deeder (voice), Sun-J (programming & samples), Pandit G (DJ), Chandrasonic (guitar) and Dr Das (bass).

The last word in multi-faceted agit-rock, ADF follow in the footsteps of their politicised forefathers The Clash, Public Enemy, KRS-One and Rage Against The Machine, & assimilate the most significant musical trends of the past 20 years - punk, hip hop, drum`n bass & techno - with booming dub reggae and Indian classical music - to create truly compelling energy-fuelled sound palettes.

ADF have a superb website - www.asiandubfoundation.com - where, as well as extensive bio notes on the band and an excellent ADF chatroom, you can get information on their highly-politicised campaigns against racial injustice in the UK (Saptal Ram, Ricky Reel), and their London based ADFED workshops scheme, in conjunction with the London Arts Board, teaching music and technology to young people.

Having supported Rage Against The Machine, Primal Scream and the Beastie Boys all during 1999 as well as playing main stage slots at Fuiji Rock Festival and Glastonbury to huge response already this year, Asian Dub Foundation are a band on fire in 2000 - hotter than hot on stage, an incendiary music machine ready to spoil the New Zealand audience for everyone else this year - if you have only one opportunity to see a live show before Christmas is upon us, don`t miss seeing ADF live in concert - believe the hype, this is the real sound of the UK underground
