Interview taken from radio controls "from the couch interviews" for NZ music week with bennet hitchcock

(B)ennet: so tell us about your album how did it come about?

(J)eramiah: we pressed record and it happened (laughs) nah,we began recording around march after releasing a E.P with remixes of our first single on it

(H)ayden: yeah we just sat down with all our gear and went for it really

J: We wanted to create just a nice ambient chill album that kinda was like us live

H: It's heaps like we are live this album, very organic

B: What did you use to record?

H: We engineered it all at the stomach and then made loops out of all the live stuff we recorded

J: Then we chucked it into the PC using a program called acid to arrange it and another program called nuendo to produce it

B: Describe overdub for us

H: Phat
J: Yeah... phat

B: We did the name come from?

J: Should we say it should be a sercret

H: Yeah its a secret

B: Do you think that music is easy to do these days

H: Yeah with all the tech stuff that you can grab and chuck together music making and all the other bits can be done on a PC at home in the living room

J: Bye bye big phat costly studios

H: They still have there place (NOTE: hayden works at the stomach)

J: Yeah I guess so

J: I think all you need is a grunty computer and some good instruments

H: Knowing how to play them helps

J: Yeah I mean like moby recorded his play album in his bedroom

H: And theres that other guy who got number one?

J: What guy?

H: Umm i forgot his name

B: So what now what are your plans?

J: You take this one bro?

H: Ok, umm we are working on a new album at the mo' and we are gonna play all these tracks off overdub around New Zealand as much as we can

J: And we are doing a music video for one of the tracks

H: Our computer is grunty

J (laughs) Yes... yes it is

B: One more thing what do you think of NZ music

H: I think its some of the best in the world, i mean theres so much talent

J: I remember hearing a interview with some guy talking about how the open spaces of New zealand really come across in our music, i reckon thats true

H: Lately theres been really good stuff coming out

J: Shapeshifter, Concord Dawn, umm Pitch Black all the Hip Hop stuff

H: Heaps...
