Revolve

Wellington's first full-scale drum'nbass event for 1998. Featuring the wealth of international drum'n'bass talent we have right here in the capital, with the formidable combined production strength of the Grind crew and Futurefunk. Nothing at this event will be done by half. REVOLVE is taking place at a venue that has not been used before. It's been a while since there's been a venue 'debut' in wellington and it is possible it won't be able to be used again, so you're in for a treat.

All the action will be taking place in 2 warehouse 'zones' on Garrett St, across the road from where Grind's first two events were held, Lab13 and Unsound. In Zone 1 will be: intelligent lighting, Live visuals by grind, and a superefficient 8K sound rig run throughout the night by Stormtech, for the capital's drum'nbass legends to break it down in the present tense. Zone 2 will be the chillout/funkdown place - big couches, a smaller dancefloor, _non_-drum'n'bass sounds (as a contrast to Zone 1), comfy lighting, taoist visions and a small rig provided by Quinn. In addition, those who are out of town can check out the wellingtronic sounds of REVOLVE (Zone 1) via the net in RealAudio via this site... Please note: _not_ a substitute for the real thing!

Tickets can be purchase for $15, and a free CD comes with every full-price ticket. The CD contains mixes from some of the featured drum'nbass DJs as well as original tracks from a couple of the producers performing on the night, and is top sound quality - we didn't want you to walk away empty handed! Also note that if you have an Active Subcard and your mate already has a CD, you can buy a ticket without the CD for the Subcard Discounted price of $10. The ticket/CD outlets are as follows: Troubadour (James Smith Market), Rex Royale (Cuba St), St. (Willis St), Flipside (Bond St).

Futurefunk, the drum'nbass show, 11pm-1am Saturdays on Active 89FM - get your weekly dose... Hosted on rotation by Conspiracy & Sophtecks (fortnightly), K-Tel, Cow (monthly).

[R]EVOLVE is about showing off Wellington's talent, and will prove a party does not need a visit from an international act to be an event. With a 100% local line up [R]EVOLVE is about giving props to those who make this scene what it is.
