With a mix of international guests and locals in the music industry, the upcoming Warrant Of Fitness seminars are about gearing up NZ artists to export themselves with the best tools and knowledge possible. Speakers include expat Kiwi Mike Holdsworth, former head of Matador Records Europe; Reverend Moose (possibly not his real name), a legend in the US college radio industry who works in various parts of the CMJ Network; and Julian Carswell, former Mint Chicks tour manager and concert promoter who now works as tour manager for soon to be visiting Brazilians CSS.
Topics will include managing artists from afar, the future for independent labels, comparing different markets and getting noticed in the new digital age.
If you’re in a band, working with one, or just interested in hearing the speakers thoughts on working an act internationally and their perspective and experience in general, then check out the programme for details on the individual sessions, available at: www.nzmusic.org.nz.
