Grind and Studionine combine forces to bring you Wellington's first true underground New Years Eve dance event in a number of years. Blending the finest local drum and bass and house DJ's available with 3 special international guests across 3 rooms and 2 nights, we promise there will be no better way to see out the Y2K and welcome 2001 in the Capital. A new clubspace in Edward St has been secured especially for this event, combined with Studionine it will give us capacity for well over 1200 heads.

In a celebration of what has been the finest year yet for Wellington Drum and Bass, Bass Frontiers team up with Christchurch's Point Blank crew to provide a breakbeat mash up of epic proportions. The midnight slot on the first night will be filled by none other than Scotland's finest, KONFLICT, capping off a year in which they have moved to the forefront of the DnB production scene with quality release after quality release. The launch of their own label Negative Recordings in late 2000 has confirmed this position. Those of you who caught KONFLICT at last years Gathering or on their national tour in January will have no doubts about their ability to lay down some of the most upfront and original Drum and Bass available. We look forward to welcoming Kemal and Rob back for another NYE session in Aotearoa.
And as if that wasn't enough we extend The New Frontier for a second evening of serious mash up bizness on the night of the 1st. Direct from their NYE appearance for Subtronix in Auckland we bring you STORM AND DIGITAL , Metalheadz UK Direct. STORM, the 1st lady of drum and bass and regular visitor to New Zealand really needs very little introduction. A true drum and bass ambassador, she travels the globe laying down the freshest dubplates with a mixing style that is second to none. Accompanying her will be a man who can lay claim to the title 'Drum and Bass producer of 2000', the one like DIGITAL. 2000 has been DIGITAL'S year with releases on Renegade Hardware, Timeless, and Function to name but a few. With more releases due on 31 Records and his own label Phantom Audio before the year is out, things do not look like slowing down for him. Sean, Presha and Pots will provide support. A combination we believe represents the finest talent available from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The Bass Frontier will be housed in Wellington's newest clubspace, currently being refurbished and due to open late December. It can easily be incorporated into the present Studionine set up to provide 3 completely contrasting zones.
Meanwhile in Studionine .....
The main bar of Studionine will be the place to be for any discerning Wellington house lover. Featuring the talents of Auckland's finest DJ, Greg Churchill and supported by the likes of Cuffy, Leon D and Schmoo we guarantee a night of the lushest and funkiest house grooves out there today. The ninebar will also be kept moving via the selections of Studionine residents Lemon, Maria and JP Flex.
