The Living Room - Show 6 - Presented by Trinity Roots

This week's show is presented by Trinity Roots, those 3 Wellington boys whose soulful tunes are hitting the music world by storm. We catch the boys, along with some other talented DJ's and musicians, playing in the MPC Championships earlier this year. We check out a young Te Awamutu poet/ artist, follow a sic skateboarder as he skates to his Dunedin art studio and met the legendry record presser, Peter King. What a line up!!!

MPC Battle
Earlier this year, the infamous Dans Palais stage was set as a championship 'boxing match' between New Zealand's best MPC producers - at stake was $1000 prize money. Votes were calculated by 3 esteemed judges for creative composition, live performance, and audience response. Creativity meets competition; this is the future of jazz programming in freestyle digital form.

All the competitors are out to beat DJ Mu, last years winner. We see the tension build up, the competitors perform, some in a very unique way, and we get to hear and see this year's winner.

Cameron Hockly - Skater/poet/photographer/artist
We check out Te Awamutu poet/ artist/ law student as he spreads his poetry around Te Awamutu and Wellington City. We get an insight into why Cameron chalks up his poety on public walls and hear what he hopes to achieve from his poetry.

Phil Frost - Artist/ Skateboarder
Phil is a young man well known in the skate board scene as a boy who pulls crazy sic moves. However, he's not just a crazy skater, his artwork is impressing the art critics. We check out some of his moves as he skates to his art studio in Dunedin, and check out his unique art.

Peter King - Recording legend, shed dweller and experimenter
Peter King presses records by carving clear polycarbonate discs on a lathe cutting device from a rural location down south. He has been in operation since the late 80's and has been contracted by thousands of bands, musicians and labels to document their work in small runs. Peter lets us into his studio to see the lathe-cutting device in action. We watch as he presses a record for Trinity Roots, the presenters of this Living Room show, and get to drive with Peter in the Mustang the Beastie Boys gave him.
