The Laura Marie Project is an art auction fiesta revealing the unmistakable generosity of Wellington artists in a collective effort to send Laura Marie from her home in Honduras to Cuba for life saving surgery. Laura Marie is a sixteen year old senorita, living with her sister and brother in San Lorenzo. She has developed a cranial tumor that is now both debilitating and life threatening and Laura Marie’s best option for treatment is in her neighboring country of Cuba. On the 22nd of May, twenty-two predominant Wellington artist’s and many more from further a field, will put forward their works for auction at the Aaron Laurence Gallery on Lambton Quay in a Latino styled celebration that truly will capture the art of giving.
