Summer Soulstice

The fifth annual Summer Soulstice outdoor dance event is about to happen again.

100% live NZ electronica featuring 50Hz, Minuit, Lost Knowledge, Fanatica, Future Zen Sound System, Gasoline Cowboy and heaps of DJs in the beautiful surrounds of Banks Peninsula.

Christchurch's most consistent and persistent Outdoor party organisers continue their tradition of pushing the boundaries and have another first for dance events.

This year for the first time ever the main zone will feature 100% produced New Zealand electronica.

There will be over seven hours of totally original material played in the natural amphitheatre in Orton Bradley Park.

Headlining the event will be Minuit from Nelson, an awesome live three piece, Lost Knowledge who are at the forefront of producing live harder style trance and 50Hz for the first time in Christchurch.

Along side these acts will be local favourites OG, Future Zen Sound Crew, Fanatica and Gasoline Cowboy.

The event, being held from 6pm on Saturday 7th December is the fifth Summer Soulstice outdoor party that Massive Productions has organised.

Starting in 1998 at Godley Heads the party was then held at Le Bon's Bay before settling at Orton Bradley Park.

We are a small organisation, intent on having a good time and putting on an affordable party for people. We are not in the business of over charging and profit margins. We are about show casing local talent, from the music to the set design.

Every year the party takes on a new persona, reflecting the people involved and the music planned. From the largest party in 2000 where we had Bryan Gee and Tinrib to going completely NZ this year, we will continue to produce parties that people love to let loose at. Its about having fun with friends, meeting new people and dancing under the stars.

As well as the 100% OhZone NZ area, there will be an Amps tent, with other DJs playing a full spectrum of dance music. Included are Co. Wrekt Drum and Bass crew, King Al back to back with Sassafras, SliPHat, Taktik and Insomniac back to back with Sirius.

From trance to house and jungle to drum and bass, all styles are represented.

Tickets are only $25 and available from Asylum at 72 Lichfield Street, Cosmic Corner at 237 High St and Seventh Circle Body Piercing upstairs at 115 Cashel Mall.
