ARTIST BIOS

Sneaky Sound System (LIVE)

The past 12 months for Australia’s numero uno dance act Sneaky Sound System, have been nothing short of hectic. After supporting Jamiroquai on a their national tour of Australia, the core trio of MC Double D (frontman/man-about-town/MC), Miss Connie (frontwoman/vocals) and Black Angus (chief songwriter/producer/music guy) took off to Miami, New York, Italy, London and Hong Kong for a bunch of shows. They toured Australia with their six-piece band, released their super debut album, and went on three more sold-out, crazed tours of the country. They went top 25 with two singles ‘I Love It’ and ‘Pictures’, top 20 with their album, spent more than three months at number one in the club charts, and recently won two ARIA’s for Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist. Their slick debut self-titled album is doing for the local dance music industry what Paris Hilton did for amateur home videos. Think stiff beats, thick bass lines, lush melodies, haunting vocals, rolling guitar licks and urban tales of love and loss. It is part-melancholic beauty but for the most part, it's party mayhem.

David Guetta

With his third long-playing album Pop Life, the return of the legendary ‘Fuck Me I’m Famous’ parties in Ibiza and massive bookings all over Europe and the US, the superstar DJ is taking things to the next level. A household name in his native France, the multi-million selling producer, recording artist and promoter has found the rest of the world is rapidly catching up. David has been DJing since the age of 17, when he first spun tunes at the Broad club in Paris. Throughout the early Nineties, he continued to wow crowds playing an eclectic party set of house, hip-hop and garage at Parisian venues as diverse as Le Centrale, Le Boy and notorious former cabaret spot Folies Pigalle.

David has become one of the most in-demand DJs in the world, headlining nights in America, Australia, Japan, South America and beyond. His first two albums ‘Just A Little More Love’ (2002) and ‘Guetta Blaster’ (2004) reached 2 x gold in Europe, while the Wally Lopez mix of ‘Just A Little More Love’ became David’s first UK hit in 2003, and remains a deathless Ibiza anthem to this day. Fast forward to 2006, David Guetta vs The Egg’s mash-up ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go (Walking Away)’ was a Top 10 smash around the world. Legendary status in place David has a solid fanbase that line up in droves to see him DJ wherever he goes.

Sister Bliss (Faithless)

As one of the founding members of Faithless, Sister Bliss became one of Britain's most popular figures in the electronica scene. What many might not realise is her incredible history as a musician and DJ before that point. She started learning the piano at the age of five, eventually moving on to violin, saxophone, and the bass.

She began DJing in 1987, acting as one of the few female house DJs in Britain at the time. She appeared at many popular clubs in the country, including Cream, the Gallery, and the Ministry of Sound, and began to play internationally as well. By the time she had met fellow DJ Rollo, she was already quite the featured attraction in the techno scene. The two began to write and record together while she continued her solo career. The singles ‘Life's a Bitch’ and ‘Badman’ were both huge club hits, and her collaborations with Rollo eventually came out under the Faithless name. Their first album, 1996's Reverence, was an underground sensation but did not quite break the mainstream. 1998's Sunday 8AM changed all of that, the single "God Is a DJ" became one of the biggest club anthems of the decade while the album enjoyed bigger sales than anything they had previously released. Right now Sister Bliss is DJing all around the world regularly seen at large events including Dance Valley, Innercity and Godskitchen.

Sebastian Ingrosso

Sebastian Ingrosso and studio partner Steve Angello have just finished remixing the recent single off the new album from the biggest solo star on the planet, the deep, emotive remix of the classic Justin Timberlake/Timbaland single ‘My Love’. It’s a master-class of low-slung bass, haunting vocoders and thundering drums that Jacques Lu Cont would be proud of. This year has been a busy one for Seb. As well as Justin, there have been killer re-rubs for Felix and P Diddy (the searing Jack U remix), a glorious, glistening house mix of ‘Swimming Places’ and an uber-cool mix of new outfit ‘The Moder’n. The key thread to Seb’s sound, is one thing: soul. "Yes, there needs to be something to grab me. I did a lot of hard electro stuff but you need soul in the music, it can be hard, twisted and distorted too but it needs something that makes you laugh, dance or cry. That’s the thing with music. You want a reaction."

Steve Angello

It all kicked off for Steve Angello when he released ‘Woz not Woz’ alongside fellow Swede, Eric Prydz in 2004 and elevated Steve to being one of the most in demand producers, remixers and DJs in the world. In one year alone Steve had two top 5 club hits, remixed the likes of Moby, Goldfrapp, Royksopp and Deep Dish, released a Subliminal Sessions CD and was nominated for ‘Best Producer’ at the House Awards. He also won the acclaimed ‘Best Newcomer’ (alongside partner in crime, Sebastian Ingrosso) at the DJ Awards in Ibiza.

Steve’s highly charged sets have scored him thousands of adoring fans around the world. His diverse sets keep the crowds electrified, and no matter how many times you see him play, you will rarely hear the same track twice. His ability to connect with the crowd is intense, and it is as if he reads your mind when you hear the bass drop of a track you have been waiting all night to hear. The music screams at you; passion, commitment, dedication, focus, drive, and energy; music is no idle pastime for Steve, it’s everything. It’s hard to believe that the quality of the music comes from someone so young, but Steve pulls it off.

Benny Benassi

Benny Benassi works as a producer in collaboration with his cousin Alle Benassi, who has been a musician and arranger at Off Limits, in Reggio Emilia, Italy, the internationally successful production unit run by Larry Pignagnoli. His first club hit was ‘I feel so fine’ by KMC feat Dhany, this was followed by the smash Benny Benassi presents The Biz project, a ground-breaking mixture of electro, techno and house dosed with minimalist flair. The first single ‘Satisfaction’, (2002), made its presence felt on dancefloors and topped charts globally.
When Benny isn’t in the studio, he tours the world rocking clubs and festivals with his unstoppable energy. His DJ style is easy to describe… it’s kinda electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth.

Dave Spoon

Producer Simon Neale has been playing with electronic music for years. You could say music production was inevitable after growing up with 80s synth-pop and early House music, playing with old synths and drum machines and going to a secondary school in 1989 that had a TB303 covered in dust in the music room cupboard.

Nowadays, using his 'Dave Spoon' alias, Simon offers a versatile range of production. His break came with Mark Knight signing his ‘21st Century EP’ to Toolroom Records in 2004, with instant success and support from the worlds biggest players. Since then both the lead piano track on his ‘Sunrise EP’ for Big Love and the unstoppable ‘At Night’ have cemented his place in the world of House music.

His production portfolio boasts recent remixes of Richard Grey, Paul Van Dyk, Gat Décor and Joey Negro to name just a few. The recent collaboration with Pete Tong as ‘Tong & Spoon’ has seen them remix Robyn with Kleerup, Razorlight and currently James Blunt.
With a hot update of ‘At Night’ with vocalist Lisa Maffia being tipped for major top 40 success in August, an artist album under way for early 2008 and remixes currently under way of both Dizee Rascal & MIA, things continue to look very good for Dave Spoon.
