British producer/writer Matrix (a.k.a. Jamie Quinn) has been releasing much lauded drum'n'bass since 1992. Part of a crew of British drum'n'bass heads who moved through London's influential Speed club and stayed with the style through the 90's, Matrix began his production career with releases on DJ SS's Formation imprint. Having recorded for several other labels, including Metalheadz and Grooverider's Prototype, 1997 saw Matrix launch Metro Recordings, a consistent purveyor of top quality tracks loved and respected the world over. With deeper cuts as well as solid energy fuelled dancefloor anthems, Metro has proved ever popular with its diverse selection policy, featuring music from artists such as Ed Rush, Optical, Bad Company and Fierce.

Matrix issued his debut album 'Sleepwalk' through Virus in 2000, cementing his reputation for tough yet soulful drum and bass with an innovative streak. More recently, Quinn teamed up with production partner Dan Goldstein (a.k.a. Danny J) after the pair met working in the studio on mixes for UK drum and bass star Goldie. In 2001, they fused their names and their talents to form Goldtrix -a deep house production outfit. After scoring a top ten hit in the UK with their debut single 'Trippin', the pair have gone on to remix the likes of Toni Braxton, Annie Lennox and Robbie Williams, while simultaneously maintaining their drum and bass production duties. From the uplifting vocal-laced 'Paradiso', to the bass driven tribal mayhem of 'Telepathy', the pair have earned a name for some of the deepest drum and bass cuts around, with Matrix's worldwide DJ schedule always ensuring that their sound is firmly tied to the dancefloor.

Currently flying high with a series of fathomlessly funky remixes and several forthcoming sublime original tunes, the Metro Recordings CEO heads down under once more to add some well needed class to the Drum and Bass landscape. The highly respected brother of Optical and accomplished house DJ, Mr Jamie Quinn is always solid currency for a funky, sophisticated night of futuristic Drum N Bass not to be missed.
