When & where
Resident at Singapore's Zoukclub since 1991, Jonathon Yeo has played everywhere; from London's Ministry Of Sound, to Ibiza - and is now returning for his second time at Studionine.
Jonathan Yeo has been a DJ in Zouk since its opening night. During this time, he has covered what he called a "myriad of musical styles: house, Balearic, techno, tribal, garage, breakbeats, Detroit, Mambo Jambo".
We shall most likely experience firsthand the new work Yeo has been producing, after the recent launch, of his new record label Ke at Zouk, where our own Bass Frontiers represented Wellington.
"Studionine was abuzz with energy not seen since Derrick May packed it out earlier this year. What followed was a hyper hurricane of rhythms scored along the lines of many of Detroit's legends. Jonathan was solid throughout the night, chopping and tweaking his way through, leaving many local DJs there that night impressed by his technical wizardry and his flawless ability to read the crowd in giving them what they wanted - quality dance music. Those in attendance experienced a special night, a first for the NZ dance scene, and one which instantly went down as one of those nights people talk about for a long time aftewards."
