Enlighten Festival is proud to introduce the Masquerade Ball!
We warmly invite you to participate in this inaugural gathering, the first of many up and coming events from Enlighten Festival. Join us in a co-creative harvest celebration of this year's long hot summer. Come hang out and experience the Masquerade Ball in the retro themed 'Enlighten Lounge', with a great line up of live and electronic music before the nights get longer and the days colder.
We're super excited to have Dj Hat, playing driving grimey electro, tech house and tough minimal techno through to deep electronic future funk with the odd banging remix for good measure. Dj Hat has a reputation for mixing innovative, cutting edge and dynamic sets at New Zealand’s biggest clubs, festivals and parties, including Rhythm & Vines; he's sure to make the night a hit!
Returning to Palmy are the Naki band theSlacks, playing their rockabilly blues country boogie woogie swing that has been getting NZ audiences bouncing around the dance floor every time they go on stage.
& local duo Pict Off, playing a wonderful set of mashed-up covers on the mandolin and guitar
After dark the Massey University Fire Club will be bringing a spectacular fire show to wow you with awe and wonder!
More performances still to be announced closer to the event.....
The shared vision guiding the creation of Enlighten Festival is to create regular events in the Manawatu that will grow to be a multi-day festival. The festival events are intended to support a co-creative environment where festival participants have an opportunity to make connections, to share, and celebrate our diverse community. Each Enlighten Festival event will showcase different aspects of a future multi-day festival, and future instalments will include workshops, electronic dance parties, full moon drumming evenings and much more.
Come join the Masquerade!
