Dj Positronik At The Arc

Live original dowbeat toons from DJ Positronik AKA ZX81. A must see event that will cost you nothing to get in. The gig will be a collection of some of the downbeat toons (75-120BPM) from Matt Riddell's studio located now in Dunedin.

Matt Riddell is a prolific music writer (normally psy trance to hard trance under the name ZX81) who likes to smoke. This has brought about the downbeat groovy toons that encircle you with specially picked frequencies designed to make your head spin and your ass shake.

He played at the Visionz festival (trance zone and live zone) for the last two years and the Gathering (hardcore zone) before that. This was after a long extended dabble in the UK hardcore scene and various gigs in London and San Francisco.

After the most recent Visionz festival (2002-2003) he has decided that the South Island of New Zealand has so much beauty that it deserves to serve as inspiration for hundred of musical tapestries.

He is a prolific songwriter (200-300 songs a year) and has picked the very best for a 2 hour performance at the Arc Cafe in Dunedin on Wednesday the 19th of February between 8pm and 10pm.

It is highly recommended that if you are a smoker you smoke before arriving and come and chill to the toonz laid out before you.

You have no excuse really as there is no charge for the gig and this may be your only chance to see him play live before he recluses back to his Dunedin based studio for another year.
