I can hardly believe it, can it really be happening?
Control Freaks Rule the World.
After 5 years together Ace Hurt (aka Matt Hunt), Bek Coogan and Dreamboy (Richard Falker), step up to present their first album. "People have been gagging for it and really hanging out" says Coogan. "For ages now every time I walk down the street, people are like, when on earth is your album coming out???"
Well relax people, it is time...
After a year and a half spent in a series of bedrooms around Wellington, recording the album it's been mastered and mixed by Dale Cotton (who most recently remixed the Toy Love album). This high quality studio production with garage edges has remained true to the bands Palmy roots. "We've begged and borrowed some very expensive gear for which we are very grateful" says Coogan.
"The album is a new chance for people to consider our music" says Coogan, a real test for the band whos live reputation definitely precedes them wherever they go. "I see this as our Second Coming."
They have escaped the vortex and will be playing with at Indigo with Wellington's best Underground Superstars: The Mysterious Tapeman, Disasteradio, Knife Fight, Cherry's Gemstones
Expect a new realm of fashion from the Tomorrow Fashion People, as the band refers to their exquisite dress sense and performance garb. There'll also be plenty of the infamous Cortina unexpected stage antics and more conspiracy theories from Ace.
There will also be a range of NEW SONGS never been heard before live. The band is especially excited to present their latest number, Blame if on Society. The gigging schedule for Cortina has been pretty quiet of late in preparation for this special unleashing.
It'll be a legendary night to remember. As Coogan says, "We'll do anything to keep rock n roll alive for just one more second."
Tickets are going to be $20 with the CD - Control Freaks Rule the World or $10 without....
And Ace would like to add, "Although the album is called Control Freaks Rule The World, we still believe in peace, love and rock n roll."
