CHRISTOPHER TUBBS (UK) - Mighty Mighty

Christopher Tubbs is a Wellington boy who went and conquered the beautiful and Balearic sounds of the European nu disco and edit scene. Pleasing the cosmic crowd firstly as a DJ, then with his highly rated record label Untracked, a vinyl bastion of good quality house and disco that has featured releases by UK legend Ashley Beedle, and mysterious NZ local Frank Booker. Alongside this Tubbs publishes Head’s Down, a blog that has gone on to become infamous for the range of interviews and content it publishes, including Tensnake, Aloe Blacc, and DJ Harvey, and for constantly having a finger on the pulse of this ever changing scene. His current residency at Caravan has become one of London's must-do nights.

Tubbs learned his trade in Wellington, playing alongside the likes of Mu, Cian, and Clinton Smiley, and the city has always had a soft spot for when he returns. His last visit resulted in a spontaneous modern disco workout at Mighty Mighty, in which Tubbs filled the floor with appreciative clubbers and vagabonds, dropping bassline after bassline of deep chuggy funk.

Tubbs is back in town this February for brief rendezvous with his old hunting ground, and once again returns to Mighty Mighty for what is bound to be an unmissable set.
