Join songbird Alda Rezende and friends for Brasiliana, a journey that traces its roots to the very heart of Brazilian music.

A household name in her home country of Brazil, singer Alda Rezende brings a love of jazz, bossa nova, samba, classical, electronic and pop music to her newly adopted home, New Zealand.

Alda Rzende has invited two leading exponents of Brazilian music, guitarist and composer Weber Lopes and multi-instrumentalist and composer Kristoff Silva to join her at Taupo for ERUPT Taupo Festival, and she is pleased to announce the addition of percussionist André "limão" Queiroz and and percussionist and eletronic producer Lenis Rino thanks to support from the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil, the Government of Minas Gerais and the City Council of Belo Horizonte.

Expect the live collaboration to be a potent musical experience as the distinct styles of the musicians, all highly regarded for their diversity of style, technical innovation and harmonic richness, together with Alda’s rich voice, create beautiful and unexpected melodies and harmonies.

Alda Rezende has worked alongside some of the most traditional samba groups in Brazil and shared the stage with the musical avant-garde of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has released two albums of her own; ‘Samba Solto’ and ‘Madrugada’, with New Zealand musician Jonathan Crayford, and recently as part of the Bacardi B-Live OE:Brazil music and cultural exchange, Alda Rezende recorded with musician/ producer, Max de Castro, and Rio de Janeiro band, Bossacucanova.

“Husky, intimate, emotionally potent. A jazz, samba and bossa nova singer of great sensuality and power” - Sunday Star Times.

Alda Rezende and Brasiliana, proudly co-sponsored by the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil and supported by the Government of Minas Gerais and the City Council of Belo Horizonte.
