A Good Ol' Fashioned Toastie!

Radio Active 89FM's Homebass Crew present A Good Ol' Fashioned Toastie!
Saturday the 7th, July 2001: 10pm - Late.

Djs: Funktion, Grasshopper, Puppy, Top Knot & MC Imon Star.
With special guest DJ Lemon.

After half a year in hibernation from Bar Bodega, the Homebass crew have returned to bring the true Toastie vibe back into the hearts of Wellingtonians. A special event for supporters and lovers of the feel good sounds of Jamaica and beyond, as well as those who just want a warm and eventful evening in town.

This is the sound of dub, roots reggae and the all encompassing rhythm of the bass.

The Homebass Crew first ventured outside the studio to embrace Bar Bodega in December 1999- with the original Toastie party- and have since played The Gathering 2001, Cuba Street Carnival, Subterania, One Love 2001: Sun Is Shining & Midnite Sunshine in the Zebo's Garden Bar- along with a raft of other events featuring the omnipresent Homebass DJs, who have been kept busy with our own working lives and separate DJ duties. Now, by popular demand and devotion to the Homebass show, we return once again to bring you more of the true vibe and spirit of a Good Ol' Fashioned Toastie!

In 2001 we present a series of six Toastie gigs ending in December (see confirmed dates below). This year we bring the new tunes mixed with the classics- with a greater emphasis on Bar Bodega's environment- and with special thanks going out to our new supporters CBC, and our special guest DJ Lemon fresh from the Rub-A-Dub session, an on-air Radio Active 89FM event that coincides with International Reggae Week!

More details, of course, via Radio Active 89FM where you can check us out every Thursday evening, 11pm-2am, at your home base- or via realaudio on http://www.radioactive.fm . Keep an eye out for upcoming Package issues for further information, and keep your ears to the street.

We'll see you all back in the Bodge soon...
