In the end about the third phonecall on Thursday and we were off, and going to check out the venue... It was a doozey... Phoenix Theatre on Dixon St was pretty much ready to go... all the trappings of a theatre are ideally suited to putting on a party... We couldn't get in until six on Saturday night, giving us about 4 hours to set up... opening half an hour late was ok, since it might have never happened at all... I think the setting up continued until about four AM... at least that was the last time I saw Rhys, monkeying around in the rigging.

Over four hundred went through the door at !Bang... The sound system was a truely stonking 10k, man that thing was sooo loud... Crazy Ivan stook behind the three decks spining some seriously jacking tracks before Cyrus rolled into much more abstract, banging techno... the cream of his vinyl ordering over the past year or so...

As for Polarity... the main thing I notice is the purity of the sound... coming straight out of a machine, with no vinyl compression or noise, a live PA sounds seriously wild... and Polarity even more so... over their paranormal kick patterns sounds like giant sheets of metal rippling and shuddering filled the room... It's on DAT, and is going to provide the basis of a !Bang 12"...
